The Ottawa Region Charity & Not-for-Profit Law Seminar is designed to assist charities and not-for-profit organizations in understanding developing trends in the law in order to reduce unnecessary exposure to legal liability. This seminar is eligible for 5 hours CPD credits.

The Charity & Not-for-Profit Law Seminar, with its related Church & Charity Law Seminar held annually in Toronto since 1994, is hosted by Carters Professional Corporation, a law firm experienced in advising charities and not-for-profit organizations with offices in Ottawa and the Toronto area. The seminar is presented by a number of expert speakers, including guest Cathy Hawara, Director General of the Charities Directorate of CRA.

The seminar, to be held on Thursday, February 13, 2014, at the , 170 Colonnade Rd. South, Ottawa, Ontario, will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. Complimentary coffee, tea and muffins will be served at 7:45 a.m., as well as during a mid-morning break.

The early registration fee of $50.00 per person has been kept to a minimum in order that as many charities and not-for-profits can attend as possible. This fee now includes a continental breakfast and a cold lunch buffet, as well as handout materials. Presentations will be in "PowerPoint" format and summary handouts will be provided.

Getting There

The Centurion Conference and Event Center is located at 170 Colonnade Rd. South, Ottawa, Ontario. (map to left). For more information on the center, visit its website at www.centurioncenter.com/

P1 - Limited parking for up to 250 cars is available at the conference center. Please plan accordingly to carpool or arrive early.

P2 -Special Permit parking for 75 cars is available on Colonnade Road. A Special Event Permit is available at the Carters seminar registration desk and must be displayed in your vehicle window.
