The 18th Annual Church & Charity Law™ Seminar hosted by Carters Professional Corporation in Mississauga, Ontario, on November 10, 2011, was attended by more than 800 professionals from the sector, including directors of charities, government officials, accountants and lawyers. Designed to assist churches and charities in understanding developing trends in the law in order to reduce unnecessary exposure to legal liability, the Church & Charity Law™ Seminar has been held annually since 1994. Although the topics are directed at churches and charities, many aspects of the presentations will also be of interest to not-for-profit organizations.

The lawyers from Carters Professional Corporation, a law firm with offices in the Toronto and Ottawa areas, are experienced in advising churches, charities, and not-for-profit organizations across Canada, as well as internationally. The seminar also included presentations by expert guest speakers Cathy Hawara, Director General of the Charities Directorate of CRA; and Kenneth A. Hall, President, Robertson Hall Insurance.
