Ont, Senator for Ontario, delivered a presentation setting out the context of Bill S-216, An Act to amend the Income Tax Act (use of resources of a registered charity). The Senator explained why the Bill is necessary and how it addresses the needs and lives of vulnerable communities. The presentation, given at the 2022 Ottawa Region Charity & Not-for-Profit Law Webinar, includes helpful information about the domestic and international context of resource accountability in the charitable sector and points towards a better alternative.
