SEMINAR
OVERVIEW
The Ottawa Region Church & Charity Law
Seminar is designed to assist churches and charities in
understanding developing trends in the law in order to avoid unnecessary
exposure to legal liability. Although the topics presented are
directed at churches and charities, many aspects of the presentations
may also be of interest to not-for-profit organizations.
The Church & Charity Law Seminar,
held annually in Toronto since 1994, is presented by Carters Professional
Corporation, a law firm experienced in advising churches, charities,
and not-for-profit organizations across Canada, as well as internationally.
The firm will be assisted by six expert guest speakers, as well
as a number of lawyers from the firm.

SEMINAR
DETAILS
The seminar, to be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2008,
at the Arlington Woods Free Methodist Church, 225 McClellan
Road, Nepean, Ontario, will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 3:30
p.m. Complimentary coffee, tea and muffins will be served at 8:15
a.m., as well as during a mid-morning break.
The early registration fee of $25.00 per person has been kept
to a minimum in order that as many churches and charities can
attend as possible. The fee helps to underwrite the cost of the
facilities, coffee, tea, muffins, and handout materials, but does
not include lunch. A catered lunch can be purchased at the Church
for $8.00, or ordered in advance using the registration form.
Presentations will be in PowerPoint format and summary
handouts will be provided for future reference.
