•Proposed additional regulatory requirements to RCAAAs
(which currently apply to registered charities)
–Promotion of amateur athletics in
Canada on a nation-wide basis as their exclusive (not
primary) purpose and exclusive (not primary) function
–Monetary penalties, suspension
of receipting privileges, or revocation if an RCAAA provides an undue
benefit to any person (e.g., excessive compensation to staff or
professional fundraiser)
–CRA may make available to the
public certain information and documents in respect of RCAAAs (e.g.
governing documents, annual information returns, applications for
registration and the names of directors )
