National Volunteer Week (April 19–25, 2026) is a time to recognize and celebrate the vital contributions of volunteers across Canada. First proclaimed in 1943 to highlight the important role of women supporting the war effort on the home front, the week has since grown into the country’s largest celebration of civic participation.
