OVERVIEW
The Ottawa Region Charity & Not-for-Profit Law Seminar
is designed to assist charities and not-for-profit organizations
in understanding developing trends in the law in order to reduce
unnecessary exposure to legal liability.
The Charity & Not-for-Profit Law Seminar, with its
related Church & Charity Law Seminar held annually
in Toronto since 1994, is presented by Carters Professional Corporation,
a law firm with offices in Ottawa experienced in advising charities
and not-for-profit organizations across Canada, as well as internationally.
The seminar will include presentations by a number of lawyers
from the firm, as well as the Director General of the Charities
Directorate of CRA.

SEMINAR
DETAILS
The seminar, to be held on Thursday, February 18, 2010,
at the Arlington Woods Free Methodist Church, 225 McClellan
Road, Nepean, Ontario, will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 3:30
p.m. Complimentary coffee, tea and muffins will be served at 7:45
a.m., as well as during a mid-morning break.
The early registration fee of $25.00 per person has been
kept to a minimum in order that as many charities and not-for-profits
can attend as possible. This fee helps to underwrite the cost
of the facilities, coffee, tea, muffins, and handout materials,
but does not include lunch. A catered lunch can be purchased at
the Church for $8.00, or ordered in advance using the attached
or online registration form. Presentations will be in "PowerPoint"
format and summary handouts will be provided.
