| SEMINAR
OVERVIEW
The 2010 Annual Church & Charity Law
Seminar is designed to assist churches and charities in
understanding developing trends in the law in order to avoid unnecessary
exposure to legal liability. Although the topics presented are
directed at churches and charities, many aspects of the presentations
may also be of interest to not-for-profit organizations.
The Annual Church & Charity Law
Seminar, held every year since 1994, is presented by Carters Professional
Corporation, a law firm experienced in advising churches, charities,
and not-for-profit organizations across Canada, as well as internationally.
The firm will be assisted by four expert guest speakers, including
Cathy Hawara, Acting Director General of the Charities Directorate
of CRA, and Kenneth Goodman from the Office of the Public Guardian
& Trustee of Ontario.

SEMINAR
DETAILS - NEW LOCATION
The seminar, to be held on Thursday, November 18, 2010,
at the Portico Community Church,
1814 Barbertown Road, Mississauga, Ontario, will begin at 8:30
a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. Complimentary coffee, tea and muffins
will be served at 7:45 a.m., as well as during a mid-morning break.
The early registration fee of $25.00 per person has been
kept to a minimum in order that as many churches and charities
can attend as possible. This fee helps to underwrite the cost
of the facilities, coffee, tea, muffins, and handout materials,
but does not include lunch. A catered lunch can be purchased at
the Church for $8.00, or ordered in advance using the registration
form. Presentations will be in "PowerPoint" format and
summary handouts will be provided.
