criminal offences in Canada through local police force
–Need to create guidelines in
order to determine which offences are relevant and would disqualify an
applicant from being a director, as not all criminal offences may be
relevant
•Bankruptcy Search
–Generally must not be an
undischarged bankrupt in order to qualify as a director
–In some situations where there
is doubt, it may be necessary for a nominating committee to
do a bankruptcy search
–Can be done through the Office of the Superintendent
of Bankruptcy Canada
