The 12th Annual Ottawa Region Charity & Not-for-Profit Law Seminar is designed to assist charities and not-for-profit organizations in understanding developing trends in the law in order to reduce unnecessary exposure to legal liability. This seminar is eligible for 5 hours Law Society of Ontario (LSO) CPD and CPA Professional Development requirements.
The Charity & Not-for-Profit Law Seminar, with its related Church & Charity Law Seminar™, held annually in Toronto since 1994, is presented by Carters Professional Corporation, a law firm with offices in the Toronto and Ottawa areas, experienced in advising churches, charities, and not-for-profit organizations across Canada, as well as internationally. The firm will be assisted by several guest speakers including, Tony Manconi, Director General of the Charities Directorate of the Canada Revenue Agency and Ken Goodman, Public Guardian and Trustee of Ontario.

Seminar Details
The seminar, was held on Thursday, February 14, 2019, at the Centurion Conference and Event Center, 170 Colonnade Rd., Ottawa, Ontario, and began at 8:30 a.m. and ended at 3:30 p.m. Complimentary coffee, tea and muffins was served at 7:45 a.m., as well as during a mid-morning break.
The registration fee of $55.00 per person was again kept to a minimum in order that as many charities and not-for-profits can attend as possible. This fee includes a continental breakfast and a cold lunch buffet, as well as electronic handout materials. Presentations will be in "PowerPoint" format. Electronic seminar handouts are available for free download one day prior to the seminar. Hard copies of the handout materials can be pre-ordered for pickup at the seminar for $12.00 using the attached or online registration form.

The Centurion Conference Center is located at 170 Colonnade Rd, Ottawa, Ontario (map to left).
Parking is available
Limited parking for up to 250 cars is available at the conference center. Please plan accordingly to carpool or arrive early.
Special Permit parking for 75 cars is available on Colonnade Road. A ‘Special Event Permit’ is available at the Carters’seminar registration desk and must be displayed in your vehicle window.
